Ministry of Economy announces bidding conditions for the development poles of the Isthmus Inter-Oceanic Corridor / @SE_mx >>>
#SE.- The Interoceanic Corridor will place the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in a central position in global trade. As never before, the Mexican government is investing in infrastructure under the premise of closing regional gaps. With the Corridor, the south-southeast will detonate its economic potential and attract sustainable investments that will generate decent and well-paid jobs. This was announced by the Secretary of Economy, Raquel Buenrostro, before business chambers, company directors and potential investors, during the meeting «Towards the bidding process for the development poles of the Inter-Oceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT)».
Accompanied by Captain Alfonso Fabián González Belmonte, representing the director of the CIIT, Vice Admiral Raymundo Morales, and the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Francisco Cervantes, the Minister of Economy gave details of the infrastructure being developed in the region. In addition to the construction of more than 300 kilometers of railroad tracks that will connect the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic Ocean, and the works to connect its tracks with the Mayan Train and with Ciudad Hidalgo, on the border with Guatemala, there is the modernization and expansion of the ports of Coatzacoalcos and Salina Cruz, the installation of fiber optics and antennas, gas pipelines and security posts in charge of the National Guard.
The meeting was convened to announce the bidding bases for six of the ten development poles that will be installed along the Corridor, as well as the proposal of fiscal incentives from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. On the Veracruz side: Coatzacoalcos I (257 hectares), Coatzacoalcos II (131 ha), Texistepec (462 ha) and San Juan Evangelista (360 ha). The poles located in Oaxaca that are part of this first tender are: Salina Cruz (82 ha) and San Blas Atempa (331 ha).
Regarding tax incentives, it was announced that the package consists of accelerated depreciation during the first six years, as well as VAT exemption on transactions within and between the poles during the first four years. It is worth mentioning the 100% Income Tax (ISR) exemption for the first three years, with the possibility of extending it for three additional years with a reduction of up to 90%, depending on variables such as the number of jobs created.
